On October 18-20, 2013 “Fashion Magazine – Fashion Handmade” Editorial Board organized “Modna Lyalka” 6th International Doll and Teddy Bear Show, held in the International Exhibition Centre, Kiev.
About 9 thousand visitors and 35 groups from schools came to see the Show. 15 radio and TV channels and 17 newspapers, magazines and Internet portals reported the Show.
At present the art of doll making is rapidly developing in Ukraine. Being probably one of the most positive trends of contemporary art. It obtains more and more fans. It has absorbed centuries – old traditions and united people of different countries and generations.
Work of the 180 artists from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Belarus, Moldova, France, USA, made in various techniques were presented at the Show. 5 companies and online shops presented their materials for making of dolls and Teddy bears.
A special place in the Exhibition was occupied by show cases with the works of the finalists of the “Fashion doll” 6th International contest. There were 37 projects of 29 artists all together. A special place in the contest was given to the nomination “My first doll”. This nomination shows growing of interest in such trend of contemporary art as author`s doll. The International jury was consisting of Irine Myzina (Russia), Ekaterian Kalinina (Ukraine), Siu Ling Wang (Germany).
Traditionally, the Ukrainian community of BJD held the show and presentation of BJD dolls.
For the first time all interested exhibitors had the opportunity to take part in “Minute of Fame”. There each artist could present their dolls and to tell the story of their creation, share experiences.
We believe that “Modna Lyalka” Show became a significant event in cultural life of Ukraine and soon will become world-famous, being more popular and prestigious.
